Diego Costa seems to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge and Antonio Conte is having a busy summer in search of world-class striker to replace the fierce Spaniard.
Here comes the Top five Chelsea Targets who could replace Diego Costa:
Romelu Lukaku
Ever since he left Chelsea for Everton three seasons ago, Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a potential move back to Stamford Bridge.
The Sun reported that Lukaku believes he has “unfinished business” at Stamford Bridge having never made an impact there. He’s on the brink of entering his prime years as a player and is the sort of striker who will flourish at Chelsea. The Belgian’s empowering figure up front is something; he is prolific enough to justify a move.
Robert Lewandowski
Chelsea have made an enquiry over the availability of Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Lewandowski has scored 110 goals in 147 appearances for Bayern since joining the Bundesliga giants back in 2014 but the 28-year-old is being heavily linked with a move away from the Allianz Arena in the coming months.
Alvaro Morata
Morata is a different sort of striker to Costa, but that shouldn’t act as a negative. He offers a different way of playing football; having him with Hazard and Pedro in front, Chelsea would make a massive threat at home and abroad.
Playing second fiddle to Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, Morata hasn’t made the same impact he did while at Juve. A guaranteed first-team offer at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea may well have enough bargaining power to convince him to leave Madrid.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Leading the Bundesliga with 28 goals in 29 games, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been in electric form this season; he is rightly billed as one of the best forwards in the world.
He would definitely bring something different to the Chelsea attack; his speed does open up an interesting dynamic with the long-range passing of Cesc Fabregas. He has said he will make a decision on his future at the end of the season.
Alexandre Lacazette
Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with the Blues. The 26-year-old forward has been at Lyon since his youth, making his debut in 2010.
Since then he’s made 275 appearance and has scored 129 goals, while earning 11 caps for the French national team and a Ligue 1 Player of the Year award in the 2014-15 season. Last season, he netted a career-high 37 goals in 45 appearances. He looked set to join Atlético Madrid earlier this summer, but the deal fell through due to the Court of Arbitration for Sports' decision to uphold the Spanish club's transfer ban until January next year.
